Mom’s Applesauce Cake

With a dollop of freshly whipped cream, this will become a frequent request!

Oven at 350 degrees

1/2 c. butter

1 1/2 c. sugar

3 eggs

1 1/2 c. unsweetened applesauce

1 1/2 c. chopped nuts 1 c. raisins

2 c. flour

2 t. baking soda

1 t. cinnamon

1/2 t. cloves

1/2 t. nutmeg

1/2 t. salt

Cream butter and sugar, add eggs, beat until fluffy. Sift dry ingredients. Add alternately with applesauce and butter/sugar mixture. Put into well-greased tube pan. Bake at 350 for one hour.
