About Us

Meet the Franklin family

It’s been over 40 years since we moved from the Meriden side of town to establish Riverview Farm. Our oldest daughter, Amy, was just six months old. Large pine had grown in what is now our oldest part of the orchard. There was no view of the river from the house; the dairy barn that had been here since the late 1700s fell in that first winter. Paul and the chainsaw were quite busy for a while.

Aaron is a classical pianist but has a career in the airline industry. He keeps busy flying the friendly skies all over the globe as well as hosting “Tiny Concerts” in his apartment on his concert grand piano. Though he is a worldly traveler he still makes it back to the farm any chance he gets.

Aaannd a warm welcome to our new farm manager! Mikayla grew up in VT and has worked at Riverview seasonally for seven years but she is taking on a new role this year and will be more involved year round. She and her husband Micah love spending time outside, especially with their pup, Tucker. They also lovingly adopted the stray cat dropped off at the farm last year! We are so excited to have her onboard and her enthusiasm for all things agriculture warms our little farmer hearts!

Laura, Dave and their daughter Ella live in Kittery, ME. They work full time, Dave in the education industry and Laura as a wedding invitation consultant at a letterpress shop, but enjoy visiting the farm for some R & R. Ella loves all the fresh fruit and seeing her Pops and Gee. There is farm hand potential there but she has yet to master how to work a hoe.

Amy, who built a house on the back side of the farm in 2016, now lives on the farm full time! She also runs her own gardening business most of the year but enjoys helping us here in the fall. She is the face behind Dinner in the Orchard, our wreath classes and soon to be Christmas tree business. During the winter months she keeps busy skiing, feeding the wood stove and playing with her pup, Buster.
